Spanish at Total Tots.

Total Tots has an experienced primary teacher trained in teaching of foreign languages. Total Tots offer Spanish classes to the Pre-school class.

Exposure to a foreign language at an early age has many benefits. If exposed to a language early then a young child can learn a second language as easily as they learn their first.

Research has shown that exposing a child to a second language before the age of 7 helps the brain develop new connections. They will also learn the language naturally as they learned their first language, through mimicry and play; that is actions, songs, rhymes, playing games, using soft toys and puppets and lots of repetition.

Learning a foreign language reinforces a child’s communication skills, their understanding of other cultures and their self-esteem. It can be linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum as seen below.
